Staffed at hours near arrival and departure. The station itself is closed, but Amtrak maintains a small waitroom/ticket counter on the left corner of the building. There used to be a vending machine, but that is gone now so you'll have to provide your own drinks or snacks. Bathrooms are available on site. However, outside waiting area is completely uncovered and there is no shelter from the elements. Staff shuts down as soon as the train departs, so if you're waiting for a ride you'll be outside. Dress appropriately and make sure to have some sort of rain gear if you'll be arriving in the rain.

Very nice and helpful staff. Station was clean and comfortable. I wish they would have had a snack and drink machine or a water fountain.

The Texarkana Train Station is an abandoned station. There is a area for Amtrak passengers to use, not the large building. I didn't take the train, but the area there where the train stops is cool. The station itself has a rich history, a beginning and an end. You see it now past its end. It's so nicely made and laid out. It must have been a pleasure for people to have come here and waited for a train. Just the way you lead up to the station, it looks so grand. There is a 10-12 story hotel, with grand entrance across from the station, also abandoned. I consider the Texarkana station and the hotel across the street to be examples of American ruins, in addition to being historical. All clean, few people around. Streets near the station had nice portable toilets complete with running water hand washing stations. I am not trying to sound sad about the station. It is so well-worn by time and the elements, like, respectfully run down by time. Very unique place, and was certainly more active during a different time in America. If you are there, you walk around the block and you will take a walk through the twilight zone :) with the way the buildings look.

I got on the train from chicago heading to forworth midway through Illinois 2 employees tried to kick me off saying i was smoking in the bathroom which is odd cause i sont smoke or i havent left me seat since ive got on then we have 7+ hours of delays for the trip very unsatisfied will never ride Amtrak again

Really old building. It was dark so couldn't see much. We stopped just to drop some people off. Looked like the station was closed. Train staff is very hospitable.
